Logistics Conference set for May

Furniture Today Staff -- Casual Living, 3/23/2012 2:45:44 PM

Registration is now open for Furniture/Today's Second Annual Logistics Conference, set for May 9-10 at AmericasMart here.

With a theme of Logistics 2.0 - Solving The Supply Chain Puzzle, the conference will feature presentations from industry experts who will address the logistical issues impacting ocean freight, home delivery, trucking and more.

This year's event also will feature a keynote presentation from supply chain expert Bill Lindler of United Steel Storage. In addition, two panels will evaluate logistical issues from the supplier's perspective as well as from the retailer's point of view.

"Now, more than ever, operation excellence, speed to market and a superior supply chain are the key ingredients in the recipe to success in today's competitive market," said Ray Allegrezza, editor-in-chief of Furniture/Today and conference moderator.

To help attendees in each of those areas, Allegrezza said that this year's agenda is stacked with some of the best and brightest names from the logistics and supply-chain sector.

"Our retail presenters this year include Bryan Beam of American Signature, Scott Miles from Havertys Furniture, Eric Adelstein of Bob's Discount Furniture, Naveen Pinglay of Haynes Furniture/The Dump, Greg Brinkman of Badcock Home Furniture & more, Charlie Malouf and Chris Dulski of Broad River Furniture, Howard Fineman of Ashley Furniture HomeStores, and Link Melley of Freedom Furniture and Electronics," Allegrezza said.

On the supply side, experts including Jack Hawn of Zenith Global Logistics, Ray Kuntz of Watkins & Shepard Trucking, Scott Prillaman of Hooker Furniture, Scott Roberts of Cory 1st Home Delivery, Robert Buford of Home Meridian International, Ken Donham of A.R.T. Furniture, John Lomax of Furniture Brands International, Steve Wolfe of Stanley Furniture, Chad Rosenberg of American Global Logistics, Will O'Shea of 3PD, and others will also share their knowledge.

"After last year's event, we had an overwhelming request to give the attendees even more networking time," Allegrezza said. "So we've added a networking cocktail reception Wednesday evening on May 9."
