High Point Market highlights

Nicole Crews -- Casual Living, 4/26/2012 10:10:00 AM

Casual furnishings played prominent roles at the spring High Point Market, which drew positive reviews from attendees. "The buyers are buying" was a comment repeated in hallways at the April 21-26 market.

Gilded Lilies

Selamat_w.jpgSelamat’s woven aluminum Calabash lighting group let’s light shine. Phillips-Collection-(1)_w.jpgThe Phillips Collection’s Copper Patina grouping adds glitz to clean design
Telescope-Casual_w.jpgTelescope Casual embraces the black and white movement but adds a little sparkle with outdoor accessories.  Artisan-House_w.jpgArtisan House expanded its indoor/outdoor wall art options inspired by nature, including Acacia, Floral Oak and Transcendent metal sculptures.

Nauti Boys

Dransfield-(1)_w).jpgDransfield & Ross have two great Danes of their own, so translating their high-end pillow looks to dog beds was a natural progression.  Pelican-Reef-Wicke_wr.jpgPelican Reef Wicker’s Panama Jack Collection is getting a lot of attention due to its affordable price points.
Kingsley-Bate_w.jpgKingsley-Bate showcases the Cape Cod in nautical navy and white.

In The Raw

Furniture-Classicss_w.jpgFurniture Classics Two Palms Casual line showcases the progression from indoor to outdoor.  Seasonal-Living_w.jpgSeasonal Living offers bench dining in teak.

 White Hot

Eurostyle-w.jpgEurostyle lends a hand to stark white styling with the mano.  Terra-outdoor-Hampton.jpgTerra Furniture introduced upholstered outdoor club chairs, combining marine leather and Phifer woven fabrics for cool comfort.
source-outdoor_w.jpgSource Outdoor showcases the crisp, white upholstery trend.  polart2_w.jpgPolart introduces ottomans and occasional tables to its outdoor line.
Kenian_w.jpgKenian Imports introduced a poly Adirondack chair with wide arms for full outdoor use.

Color Infusion

Elaine-Smith-(1)w.jpgElaine Smith’s Kaleidoscope Collection is ever-changing and is even more color-driven this season.  Jonathan-Adlerw.jpgJonathan Adler doesn’t fail to disappoint with his fabulously wacky, color-saturated planters.
Jaxx-(1)w.jpgJaxx outdoor beanbags are the brainchild of two mad men from Atlanta who take guerilla marketing to a whole new level.  Low-country-originals-(1)w.jpgLow Country Originals keeps it civilized with sophisticated pops of color.
Lane-(2)w.jpgLane Venture introduces its slipcovers to the swivel and debuts a new, industrial look occasional line.

Industrial Outdoor

Bramble-Company-(2)w.jpgBramble Company raids the metal yard to take recycled, outdoor chic to new heights.  Kannoaw.jpgKannoa’s industrial side table and dressed-down slipcovers embody the emerging look.
Pool-&-Spa-Enclosuresw.jpgPool and Spa Enclosures turn your outdoor pool into an instant greenhouse.

Nature Lovers

Viducci's-Garden-w.jpgViducci’s Garden introduces a red colorway to the organic pot line.  Palm-Springs-Rattan-&-Garden-Classics-(1)w.jpgPalm Springs Rattan & Garden Classics tortoise sculpture stole the show from the less inanimate objects at market.

New Neutrals

Sunset-Westw.jpgA Marcia Blake design for Sunset West takes the cue of lighter neutrals.  Lloyd-Flandersw.jpgLloyd/Flander’s showroom is awash with white with accent color this season
Skyline-Designw.jpgSkyline Design steers clear of the bold color trend and opts for the cleaner approach.

Rug Revolution

Sphinxw.jpgSphinx by Oriental Weavers expanded its indoor/outdoor rug offerings. Medium blue and bright greens, previewed at the Atlanta market, continued to gain attention. High Point debuts mimicked natural fiber looks with heavier knots like seagrass but machine-made of polypropylene.  Tozoi-Dransfield-&-Rossw.jpgTozoi partnered with Dransfield & Ross this market and one of the epiphanies of the collaboration is the outdoor rug grouping made to look like antique, weathered oriental rugs.
Capelw.jpgCapel takes synthetic sisal and jute looks to the next level with a soft hand and natural fiber look.  Jaipurw.jpgJaipur rides the wave of coastal looks.
Rug-Market-America-(1)w.jpgRug Market America riffs off the sea this market with the starfish.
