Padma's Plantation announced Ira DeVorkin and Clea Ago have joined its team.
DeVorkin started his professional career, second generation in the lighting industry. His family owned the Midwest Lamp Company, which manufactured lighting and accessories in Milwaukee, Wisc. for more than 50 years. DeVorkin moved on to Asia in the mid 1980s and developed relationships with Asian factories that manufactured for the furniture, home decor, hospitality, lighting and gift industries. He has lived in China and has headed sourcing and product development for many U.S. wholesalers. DeVorkin will head sourcing and business development for Padma's Plantation. Additionally, he has been appointed VP of Padma's Plantation's newly created Contract division.
Padma's Plantation appointed Ago as national sales manager. Ago started her career in sales within the hospitality industry overseas in 1997. Before joining Padma's, she was the sales manager for wholesaler Jeffan International for seven years. Ago has extensive retail relationships and will be in charge of managing Padma's Plantation's sales division. She brings proven experience in outdoor and indoor home furnishings as well as lighting and home decor sales.
"As a business owner we always hope to find dedicated partners that can hit the ground running," said Kevin Sypolt, COO of Padma's Plantation. "Both Clea and Ira have exceeded our expectations in a very short time. Padma's Plantation is executing its biggest growth strategy in the past four years and we believe Clea and Ira will be the catalyst that help us achieve our goals."
Founded in 1997, Padma's Plantation is a nature-inspired company that focuses on crafting furniture of natural materials including renewable resources like bamboo, rattan and abaca to create comfortable fine furniture and accessories that evoke the tropics and all it entails.
