Petra Michael joins Jane Hamley Wells

Industry veteran to lead sales efforts

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 4/30/2012 9:17:00 AM

Jane Hamley Wells expanded its sales force with the hiring of industry veteran Petra Michael.

Michael brings a thorough understanding of textile design, protective performance and fashion design to her new post. The high-level design aesthetic for which the Jane Hamley Wells modern furniture collection is known provides an ideal platform for Michael to assist luxury lodging and marquee corporate brands to create compelling environments for their stakeholders.

"Petra will be a wonderful asset to Jane Hamley Wells," said Jane Humzy, president of Jane Hamley Wells. "I am thrilled to have her on board because of her impressive, and extensive, business expertise and thorough understanding of the hotel and lodging industry -- from design and specification through to FF&E at the property level."

"Petra is going to help JHW continue to strengthen, broaden and deepen our successes in this category," Humzy added. "She will be responsible for our hospitality and contract sales on a national basis."

Michael is a well-known, well-published expert on protective bedding. While a contractor for a leading bedding protection company, she conceptualized the encasement innovation and was credited with being instrumental in the design and development of the world's first scientifically proven bed bug isolation and control device. Her expertise in biology and chemistry, along with training in textile design, enabled her to create the next generation solution that combines performance with style in an encasement designed exclusively for hoteliers and retailers worldwide.

A native of Germany, Petra holds degrees from Edith Stein Gymnasium in Germany, as well as a degree in fashion design from the Academia d'Alta Moda Koefia in Rome, Italy. Her language fluency in Spanish, Italian, German and of course English makes her a tremendous asset in working with global manufacturers, designers and clients.

Based in Chicago, Jane Hamley Wells is an international contemporary furniture company that is committed to bringing to North America the world's finest and freshest upscale designs - for both indoor and outdoor use.

Jane Hamley Wells is the exclusive representative of numerous distinguished designers of highly styled, contemporary furniture including Spanish-based Joquer, Expormim, Tramo and Ziru, Holland-based Freeline International, Italy-based Pircher and Euro3plast, and the Jane Hamley Wells collection. Jane Hamley Wells specializes in sourcing and supplying these distinctive contemporary outdoor and indoor furniture lines to contract and design professionals and the wholesale retail market.
