High Point Market Highlights

Nicole Crews -- Casual Living, 6/1/2012 2:00:00 AM

The High Point Market was home to close to 200 casual furniture and accessory manufacturers and distributors this spring. Casual furnishings played a prominent role at the April 21-26 market, with major players like Agio, Lloyd/Flanders, Telescope Casual, Lane Venture, Brown Jordan, Summer Classics, Palm Springs Rattan & Garden Classics and numerous others in attendance. Outdoor style was at an all-time high with minimalist and industrial looks competing with the glam and vibrantly colorful. Here are some of the recurring themes the show revealed.

GILDED LILIES

Selamat’s woven The Phillips

Selamat's woven aluminum Calabash lighting group shines a light on glam styling.

The Phillips Collection's Copper Patina grouping adds glitz to clean design.

WHITE HOT

Eurostyle lends Terra Furniture
Eurostyle lends a hand to stark white styling with the Mano.  Terra Furniture introduces upholstered outdoor club chairs, combining marine leather and Phifer woven fabrics for cool comfort.
IN THE RAW
Furniture Classics’

Seasonal Living

Furniture Classics' Two Palms Casual line demonstrates the progression from indoor to outdoor.

Seasonal Living offers bench dining in teak.

NEW NEUTRALS

Lloyd/Flander’s A Marcia Blake

Lloyd/Flander's showroom is awash with white and light gray tones this season.

A Marcia Blake design for Sunset West takes a cue from lighter neutrals.

NAUTI BOYS

 Pelican Reef  Kingsley-Bate
Pelican Reef Wicker’s Panama Jack Collection is getting a lot of attention due to its affordable price points.

Kingsley-Bate showcases the Cape Cod in nautical navy and white.

NATURE LOVERS

 Viducci’s Garden Palm Springs

Viducci's Garden introduces a red colorway to the organic pot line.

Palm Springs Rattan & Garden Classics' tortoise sculpture stole the show from the less nature-driven objects at market.

COLOR INFUSION

Elaine Smith’s

Jonathan Adler

Elaine Smith’s Kaleidoscope Collection is ever-changing and is even more colordriven this season.

Jonathan Adler doesn't miss a deconstruction beat with his fabulously wacky, color-saturated planters.

INDUSTRIAL OUTDOOR

 Lane Venture Kannoa’s

Lane Venture introduces its slipcovers to the Swivel and debuts a new, industriallook occasional line.

Kannoa’s industrial side table and dressed-down slipcovers embody the emerging look.

RUG REVOLUTION

 .Tozoi partnered Jaipur rides
Tozoi partnered with Dransfield & Ross this market and one of the epiphanies of the collaboration is the outdoor rug grouping made to look like antique, weathered Oriental rugs  Jaipur rides the wave of modern coastal looks.
