Photo courtesy of Brown Jordan. The International Interior Design Association (IIDA), in partnership with Hospitality Design (HD) magazine, recently revealed the winners of the 2012 IIDA/HD Product Design Competition, which took place during the 2012 Hospitality Design Expo and Convention in Las Vegas last month.

Among the honored designs was Elements from the Richard Frinier Collection for Brown Jordan, winning best of show in the category of Group/Series Seating Outdoor.

Since Frinier returned to collaborate with Brown Jordan in recent years, they have created six new collections together and garnered four design awards, including three design awards over two consecutive years from the IIDA/HD Product Design Competition for their designs Elements, Cloud Nine and Still.

While Brown Jordan and Frinier share a long history of bringing award-winning designs to the worldwide marketplace, Frinier says such accomplishments are never taken for granted.

"I am honored and humbled to have these designs recognized by IIDA and HD," Frinier said. "This means we have listened to our following, and there is no higher accolade for a designer than to have people make an emotional connection with their designs."

"Brown Jordan did a remarkable job in the execution of these designs, so I am grateful for this collaboration, our successes together and this latest recognition," he added.

The 2012 judging panel included Karen Daroff, IIDA, Daroff Design, Inc., Philadelphia; Anne-Marie Gianoudis, IIDA, Gresham Smith & Partners, Birmingham, Ala.; Felice Silverman, IIDA, Silverman Trykowski Associates, Boston; and Stacy Reed, IIDA, Gensler, Austin, Texas.

"This year's submissions were of the highest quality in design," Silverman said in a recent release from the IIDA. "The winning products blended the highest standards of innovation and beauty. The judges had a very difficult time selecting among the many outstanding submissions."
