TUUCI parasols win industry recognition for design excellence

MIAMI — TUUCI parasols, based here, received three honors in this year's ADEX Awards, an annual competition recognizing design excellence. TUUCI's Plantation MAX Cantilever earned Platinum, while the Ocean Master MAX Classic took Gold and the Ocean Master Manta received Silver.

"The ADEX competition is important for us because it's judged by leading industry professionals who have the experience and the expertise to evaluate leading-edge design," said Dougan Clarke, chief shade architect for TUUCI, which has been a consistent ADEX winner for several years. "It is essential that our industry continue to foster innovation, and the ADEX competition is motivation for all of us to set the bar higher every year."

The Plantation MAX Cantilever features a solid, stainless steel-milled fulcrum and automatic telescoping oval-shaped mast with core strength supported by TUUCI's patented independent bracket hub system and V-MAX^TM Strut design. The Plantation MAX Cantilever offers graceful and generously proportioned shade to sun-drenched environments.

The Ocean Master MAX Classic maintains a traditional yet minimalistic design with classic European tailoring and expansive shade ability. Best described as a giant parasol system, the Ocean Master MAX Classic features "maximized" components which create a durable and functionally supreme shade platform.

Inspired by the graceful movements of an in-flight manta ray, the Ocean Master Manta is uniquely shaped without the loss of functionality. This design is constructed to handle corrosive environments with an Armor-Wall Aluminum^TM mast and marine grade components.

ADEX, which stands for Awards for Design Excellence, is the largest awards program for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade. Design Journal, the international trade publication for interior designers, architects and facility managers, sponsors the ADEX Awards.

An anonymous panel of professionals representing a cross section of the design industry conducts all voting for the ADEX Awards. ADEX judges are drawn from their respective areas of expertise, assuring that the awards represent the best product designs of the year in the opinion of professionals actively involved in design and specification.
