MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Actiwin, an outdoor furniture manufacturer based here, will expand into the United States retail and commercial markets under the name Cabana Coast by Actiwin.
Leading sales operations for Cabana Coast is Chad Harper, who was hired in October as U.S. director of sales.
"The name Actiwin, not too many people knew it in the U.S.," Harper said. "They already had a high-end line called Cabana Coast, so we decided to market it in the U.S. under that name."
Cabana Coast by Actiwin's product line includes sectionals, fire pits, umbrellas, chaise lounges, sofas, dining tables and chairs, built primarily with aluminum or marine grade stainless steel frames.
Harper said he felt the Cabana Coast name would reflect the company's contemporary style to the U.S. market.
"We sell a lot of niche products that not a lot of companies carry," Harper said. "Ours are pretty modern, and that's really where the market is going. I think stores are getting more and more open to that."
Harper will work with a team of newly-hired sales representatives for retail and commercial markets - Tim Crowley will represent New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia; Christina Delaney will represent Florida; Gene Geckler will represent Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado; Dave Hill will represent South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia; and Jon Scheaf will represent Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia and Kentucky.
Cabana Coast by Actiwin has a permanent U.S. showroom located in suite 17-105 of the Merchandise Mart in Chicago.
