Miami Corporation awnings offer UV protection, energy efficiency

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 7/3/2012 9:15:11 AM

Miami Corporation, a distributor of automotive, contract and marine interior and exterior trim products for both manufacturing and aftermarket companies, announced a vast array of awning toppings just in time for the hottest days of summer.

For RVs, patios, boats, businesses and more, Miami Corporation touts its awnings as an effective means of providing protection against sun and UV damage, as well as an energy-efficient way to lower cooling costs to save money.

In an article published by the Skin Cancer Foundation in May, the Foundation stated that, "the number one way to prevent skin cancer is to ‘seek shade' during the peak hours of 10 a.m.-4 p.m." The use of UV-801 certified awning material protects against cancer-causing UV rays.

The company's product line includes awnings, auto upholstery, auto carpet, marine carpet, marine upholstery, convertible tops and contract upholstery fabric, as well as other interior and exterior trim products. Miami Corporation carries such industry leading brands as Sattler, Recacril, Marchem, Outdura and Weathermax. These awning materials are UV resistant, water repellent, stain resistant, mildew and rot resistant, durable, colorfast and most come with a five-year manufacturer warranty.

Fabric choices include solids, stripes and tweeds in a large spectrum of colors and bindings to match. Other materials in Miami Corporation's expansive inventory include acrylic and polyester, plus several fire retardant options including Weathermax FR and Holiday.

"We choose to carry such a diverse offering because every customer has a different experience
and different needs," said Kerry Niehaus, Miami Corporation's director of marketing. "They have multiple choices with us and we'll always have a product for their niche."
