Surya expands with Tupelo showroom, third U.S. warehouse

CALHOUN, Ga. - Surya, a manufacturer of area rugs, outdoor rugs and home accessories, has opened a 5,000-sq.-ft. showroom in Tupelo, Miss. and an additional 100,000-sq.-ft. warehouse at its U.S. headquarters in Calhoun, Ga.

"Surya's number one objective is make sure our retail and designer customers have access to our products to do their jobs successfully," said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. "The addition of these facilities makes it easier for Surya to meet this objective. One key reason customers continue to work with us is because we listen to their needs and invest in areas that would simplify their lives."

The company will show at the summer Tupelo Furniture Market, Aug. 16-19.

The Tupelo showroom will present Surya's offering of rugs and home accessories in the value segment, products retailing for $499 or less. Tupelo is Surya's fifth U.S. showroom along with Atlanta, High Point, Las Vegas and New York.

Surya now has more than 50,000 square feet in showroom space.

The opening of its third warehouse in Calhoun increases the company's capacity to 500,000 square feet, allowing it to stock more than $30 million in inventory for fast shipment, according to a release. The additional capacity enables Surya to further its strategy of increasing product availability and expanding its coordinating pillows, poufs, throws and wall art lines.

The company offers more than 15,000 SKUs. Surya expanded its Quick Ship program in the spring, which guarantees shipment of 350 of its top-selling rugs in 5 by 8 and 8 by 11 sizes within 72 hours.
