Phifer BetterVuePhifer's BetterVue screen is one of four products from the company to receive Greenguard Select Certification.Four products by screening manufacturer Phifer Incorporated have attained Greenguard Select Certification from the Greenguard Environmental Institute, an organization that aims to improve human health by enhancing indoor air quality. Phifer's BetterVue, UltraVue, PetScreen and TuffScreen lines received the certification.
Phifer's insect screening collection is also certified as meeting the Greenguard Children and Schools standards for commercial use.
The new Greenguard Select Certification Program is designed to meet the latest in scientific and market requirements for VOC and formaldehyde emissions, including showing compliance with the 2012 updates to the California section CA 01350 emissions standard. The Select Certification designates emissions performance based on modeling to specific indoor environments where the product will be used, such as commercial, healthcare, educational and homes. In addition to stringent VOC and formaldehyde level limits, Greenguard Select Certified products must meet lead and phthalate content requirements as defined by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Information Act.
Phifer's BetterVue Improved Visibility Insect Screen (iVis) is made for all screening applications such as windows, doors or porches. BetterVue's increased openness and smaller yarn diameters offer increased protection against small insects and maximize the outward view, making it sharper and more brilliant.

Phifer's UltraVue Excellent Visibility Insect Screen (eVis) delivers a sharp, more brilliant view, improved daylighting, superior ventilation and protection from annoying, disease-carrying insects. UltraVue is ideal for windows where the focus is all about the view.
PetScreen is built to withstand the bumps, bruises and bustle of even the most curious creatures. Made from strong vinyl-coated polyester, this durable, heavy-duty, pet-resistant insect screening resists tears, punctures and other damage caused by pets or heavy wear in high traffic areas. After extensive testing, PetScreen was found to be seven times stronger than regular insect screening, according to a company press release.

Made from vinyl-coated polyester, TuffScreen is a heavy-duty insect screening that is ideal for high traffic areas. Pet-resistant and tear and puncture resistant, TuffScreen is three times stronger than regular insect screening and ideal for porch and patio enclosures as well as windows and doors.

These insect screening products join a list of other Phifer interior and exterior sun control products in achieving this designation, marking Phifer's continued commitment to being environmentally conscious. All products certified by GEI must pass a series of rigorous emissions tests and undergo quarterly tests, as well as annual re-certification, to ensure their low emission status is maintained. GEI is an independent nonprofit organization founded to create healthier indoor environments, improve public health and quality of life by testing and certifying low chemical-emitting products and materials and help manufacturers build better and safer products.
