Brown Jordan enters licensing partnership with Trans-Ocean

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 7/23/2012 9:27:26 AM

Brown Jordan, a leading manufacturer of outdoor casual furnishings, announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with New York-based Trans-Ocean Import Co. to develop and market a collection of high quality and stylish indoor/outdoor area rugs.
The design of the Brown Jordan Indoor/Outdoor Area Rug Collection will be led by Liora Manné, a leading designer in the industry. The collection will include a breadth of exclusive designs, styles and sizes with a wide color palette to meet the needs of today's consumers, retailers and professional designers who seek area rugs that meet the décor, style and personal tastes for an outdoor living environment.
"The Brown Jordan collection of indoor/outdoor area rugs will reflect the outdoor leisure, style and design heritage of our brand," said Chris Carmicle, president of Brown Jordan. "For decades, Trans-Ocean has been a dominant player with best-in-class innovation and design capabilities in indoor/outdoor decorative area rugs. Their uncompromising standard of high quality and on-trend design is directly aligned with Brown Jordan's approach to outdoor casual furnishings."
The Brown Jordan collection is the newest addition to the Trans-Ocean family. For more than 100 years, Trans-Ocean has been a leader and premier supplier for the finest in area rugs. They are also a pioneer as the first to introduce outdoor rugs across various quality materials.
"The Brown Jordan brand partnership offers us a marvelous opportunity to expand the Trans-Ocean product assortment," said Charles Peck, CEO of Trans-Ocean. "The brand resonates with a large and diverse audience from consumers and specialty retail to the trade design professional and hospitality market and offers a range of aesthetic for creative inspiration. We are proud to partner with them and plan to have a successful launch of this new and exciting product line at the casual market this year."
The collection will be inspired by and reflect Brown Jordan's comfortable, inviting and entertaining lifestyle. It will incorporate machine woven rugs in multiple color structures, hand-tufted polyester/acrylic blends where color matching is consistent and flexible and Trans-Ocean's premium Lamontage style of hand-made, custom rugs with anti-microbial properties. Colors range from warm natural and time-honored hues to captivating and fresh patterns. Each piece in the collection was designed to add warmth, style and beauty and integrate seamlessly into any décor.

"Brown Jordan and Trans-Ocean are both about extending the lifestyle of outdoor living in and around the home, and there is a shared commitment to integrate superior design, style and technology for best in class products," said Liora Manné.

Brown Jordan Indoor/Outdoor Area Rugs will debut in September at the International Casual Furnishings and Accessories Market in Chicago. The collection will be available at multiple channels of distribution from specialty outdoor and flooring retailers to the design professional and contract/hospitality markets as well as Brown Jordan showrooms across the country in 2013.
