Housewares Design Awards to mark 10th anniversary

NEW YORK - The Housewares Design Awards, the housewares industry's premier independent design contest, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2013 by naming the "Best of the Best" in today's product design and by honoring the Housewares Design Award All Stars responsible for leadership in innovation over the past decade.
The Housewares Design Awards is now accepting entries for its 10th annual competition that will culminate in a gala luncheon and ceremony on Jan. 29, 2013 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. Winners will include 12 "Best in Category" Awards and "Best of the Best" Awards at the Gold, Silver and Bronze levels. The "Green House Design Award," recognizing products for eco-friendly living, will also be announced at the ceremony.
The 10th anniversary season will be marked with a special Housewares Design Awards anniversary logo and expanded media outreach to promote finalists and winners.
During the past decade, the Housewares Design Awards has crowned 117 winners, honoring their creativity, energy and savvy in building the industry year after year. This prestigious group includes both industry giants and newcomers, including Bodum, Breville, Calphalon Corporation, Chef'n Corporation, Cuisinart, Design Manufacture Distribution LLC, Dyson Inc., Eades Appliance Technology LLC, Electrolux, Full Circle, Jarden Consumer Solutions, Joseph Joseph, Jura Capresso, Lodge Manufacturing Company, Mastrad Inc., Metrokane Inc., Microplane, Nambe, NatureMill Inc., NextLife, OXO, PD Worx LLC, simplehuman, Soda Club USA Inc., Swizz Style Inc., Welcome Home Brands, Zojirushi America Corporation, and Zoku LLC.
Applications for the Housewares Design Awards are being accepted through Oct. 26. All manufacturers and marketers of housewares products are invited to enter designs that have been introduced and made available for consumer purchase in the United States from Oct. 1, 2011 to Sept. 30, 2012.
