Oriental Weavers to unveil 400-plus designs in New York

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 9/6/2012 2:49:23 PM

Rug manufacturer Oriental Weavers will introduce more than 400 new designs in its new showroom during the New York Home Fashions Market. A wide variety of new patterns, colorations, qualities, constructions and price points will be introduced in woven and printed area rugs and accent rugs. There will also be line extensions to several existing collections.

Three of the new collections that will be introduced are Made in the U.S.A. The new Adrienne collection features pops of color in shades of deep navy, warm plum, cayenne red, soft tangerine and spa blue. Cool, earthy neutrals provide the backdrop for the intense colors to shine. The rugs are machine woven of soft polypropylene, which provides a nice soft hand while high-twist, two-tone yarns add interesting surface texture.

Kate is a collection of heat-set, machine-made area rugs in soft, romantic shades such as blush, smoky orchid, slate blue and warm copper. Styling is reminiscent of old world vintage looks with simple traditional and washed transitional pieces

Oriental Weavers' Carson collection is a new plush, machine woven rug collection constructed of textured polypropylene. The mixing of yarn textures and colors results in a warm, inviting look in a pleasing color palette of vibrant paprika, slate blue, rich brown, golden ivory and steel gray.

In addition to the three Made in the U.S.A. collections, two collections from the company's Egyptian manufacturing facility will also make their debut. Temara is a machine-woven collection constructed with a high pile of dense, heavily textured yarns. The patterns are reminiscent of old world tribal craftsmanship in shades of earthy brown, hazy blue, sandy taupe and alabaster.

Oriental Weavers will also expand its indoor/outdoor line of area rugs with the new Lagos collection. The unique hi-lo effect created by the woven cut pile and flat-weave construction offers a great hand as well as plenty of texture and surface interest. Colors of deep navy, bright red, aqua blue, lime green, tangerine orange and vibrant citron are on trend for upcoming outdoor furniture/fabric groupings. Simple patterns in bright colors play off the neutral ivory and chocolate flat-weave colors, and the polypropylene easy-care construction makes it the perfect solution for any indoor or outdoor space.

Oriental Weavers will display the new collections at its "Take a Bite out of the Big Apple" showroom grand opening party at the New York Home Fashions Market from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 10, in its new showroom, located on the seventh floor of the 295 Fifth Ave. Textile Building, suite 719.

Oriental Weavers will be giving away iPads, iTouchs and other Apple products every 30 minutes during the party and will be serving signature "Big Appletinis," cocktails, wine and hors d'oeuvres. In addition, there will be lunch and afternoon wine and cheese tastings each day of market.
