Winchester Best of Show award for the Flight woven adjustable chaise.

Prior to winning the Best of Show award, the Flight woven adjustable chaise won the ICFA Design Excellence award in the Rattan/Wicker/Woven Materials category. Brown Jordan's Kantan II lounge chair won the ICFA Design Excellence award in the Tubular Materials category.

"The International Casual Furniture Market is a premier event in the casual furnishings industry and we are truly humbled by these honors," said Chris Carmicle, president of Brown Jordan. "These awards are a testament to our commitment to the Brown Jordan legacy of innovation in design and materials. We take pride in continuing to offer the best in timeless design as we expand our portfolio to attract new consumers and meet new markets worldwide."

This is the seventh time Brown Jordan has received the Lillian B. Winchester Best of Show award, which is selected from among the 11 category winners. The company won in 2007 for the Zephyr lounge chair, 2002 for the Wave arm chair, 1998 for the Meridian lounge chair, 1988 for the Neapolitan arm chair, 1987 for the Venetian arm chair and 1986 for the Legend Contour chaise.

Selected to win the top award in the "Woven" category and ultimately the "Best of Show" award from more than 100 product entries, the Flight woven adjustable chaise features a mix of materials with a streamlined frame constructed of cast and extruded aluminum, and a seating element hand-woven in Brown Jordan's all-weather Resinweave.

Designed by John Caldwell, Flight is characterized by its simplicity and sophistication, offering a crisp and tailored look.

Receiving the top award in the "Tubular Materials" category, Kantan II re-interprets a design originally created in 1956 by Tadao Inouye exclusively for Brown Jordan. Executed with a naturally lustrous brass frame and Brown Jordan's proprietary Suncloth straps, the Kantan II lounge chair represents the enduring appeal of mid-century modern design concepts and Brown Jordan's history of bringing new materials to market.

"Brown Jordan has been known for its beautiful aluminum furniture since the 1940s, and was also the first company to introduce furniture made from recyclable all-weather polyethylene weaving material in the early 1990s to replace traditional wicker and cane," said Stephen F. Elton, chief brand officer. "The ICFA awards bestowed upon our Flight Woven and Kantan II collections draw attention to the diversity of our products, our leadership in the industry and our history of innovation and iconic design. It is very rewarding for Brown Jordan to be recognized by the International Casual Furnishings Association and especially to receive awards in more than one category."
