Brown Jordan showcases classic and on-trend collections

Legacy brand offers a range of diverse styles at High Point Market

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 10/12/2012 11:21:11 AM

LOS ANGELES - Brown Jordan, a leading luxury outdoor furnishings manufacturer and distinguished legacy brand, will introduce its 2013 collections at the High Point Market, Oct. 13-18. Product introductions will range from the contemporary aesthetic of designer Michael Berman's elegant Marin collection to new editions of Brown Jordan's iconic Kantan and Cricket collections.
"Fall market is always an exciting event, but this year we are raising the bar by offering an extraordinary selection of designs, materials and colors that address the breadth of consumer tastes," said Stephen Elton, chief brand officer for Brown Jordan. "The 2013 Collections truly represent the Brown Jordan legacy of design leadership and highlight our commitment to evolving the brand while staying true to our values of innovation, integrity and quality."
Among the products to be presented at High Point, Brown Jordan will introduce the timeless Kantan II and Cricket II legacy collections. Originally designed in 1956 by Tadao Inouye, Kantan II has been reinvented with a streamlined brass frame and Brown Jordan's proprietary Suncloth straps. Cricket II was created more than 30 years ago by industrial designer Henry P. Glass, who devised a simple structure that will fold to less than 1" for easy portability. This mid-century classic has been refreshed in powder-coated aluminum paired with a seating element in a rich jacquard weave with a Brown Jordan logo motif.
Flex, from the Richard Frinier Collection for Brown Jordan, represents the innovation and refined aesthetics for which the company and esteemed designer are known. Each piece in this sleek, contemporary collection is built using resilient Suncloth straps woven over an aluminum frame in a striking cross-strap pattern that provides comfort, function and high style in equal measure.
Brown Jordan's Flight Woven collection, designed by John Caldwell, adds the textural richness of a variegated Resinweave® fiber that replicates the nuances of natural materials. The juxtaposition of the aluminum frame and hand-woven fiber creates a modern look for Flight Woven, a crisp, tailored aesthetic that speaks to today's tastes.
Equally contemporary, the Marin collection, designed by Michael Berman exclusively for Brown Jordan, has a distinctive flair that can adapt to a wide range of settings both indoors and out. Made from premium plantation grown teak, Marin displays a unique hand-worked combed finish accented by stainless steel details and yacht cording that accentuates the arms and base of the Marin Lounge Chair and Sofa.
Rounding out its array of product innovations, Brown Jordan also debuts DelMar, a classic collection with inviting curves, and a new addition to Brown Jordan's Woven Advantage program; the elegant Freemont Sling and Freemont Cushion aluminum collections and the company's new Thin Lines and Tundra table tops, along with Universal bases. As the name suggests, Thin Lines tops are distinguished by narrow grooves etched into fiber-reinforced stone matrix. Tundra resinwood tops replicate the look of natural wood, but offer superior resistance to the elements. Octave and Trestle Universal bases, crafted of powder-coated aluminum, are designed to pair with Brown Jordan round and rectangular tops respectively.
As with all Brown Jordan furniture, each of the 2013 collections-whether made of aluminum, brass, teak or a resin material-is designed to live out of doors in any setting and any climate. Equally, Brown Jordan textiles offer not only a stylish palette of colors and textures, but also exceptional durability.
Brown Jordan's recently developed Suncloth straps are a highly resilient, weather-resistant material that conforms to the body to offer secure support and beauty that will last. Adding comfort and color to the Flex and Kantan II collection, Suncloth straps elevate the perception of strap construction to one that is stylish and sophisticated, as well as highly practical.
