Tervis unveils new contrast collection

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 10/29/2012 11:17:37 AM

The Contrast Collection by TervisThe Contrast Collection by TervisNORTH VENICE, Fla. -- Insulated drinkware manufacturer Tervis introduced its new Contrast Collection of tumblers at the New York Tabletop Show this month.

The collection features a new solid white inner wall, a first for the 66-year-old company, which in the past has used clear inner walls in its products.

Available for purchase in January 2013, the collection features eight distinct patterns with elements of lace and interpretations of organic images like bamboo, animal prints and florals. The dramatic interplay of the strong black against the crisp white is what gives the Contrast Collection its name.

Tervis drinkware is produced using an inner and outer wall that are ultrasonically sealed together, creating a pocket of air that insulates the beverage to keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold.

In keeping with current fashion and market trends, Tervis chose the pairing of black against its new white interior for its simple yet striking juxtaposition to create a bold, fresh statement that also stands the test of time, according to a company release. The white opaque inner wall ushers in a new era that will allow for a multitude of exciting new design options in the future, the release states.

"Our customers are always excited to see what Tervis comes out with each season. I think they are going to be extra delighted by the white inner wall seen in the Contrast Collection," said Rich Kaplan, Tervis president of sales and marketing and chief brand officer. "It allows us to delve into contemporary styling that appeals to our current Tervis fans as well as new consumers who will be drawn to this elegant design."

Available in a 16-ounce size, the Contrast Collection will retail for $19.95 single or $39.95 for a set of two in specialty gift boxes.
