AmericasMart preps for expansive temporary exhibits at winter market

New Gardens Luxe showcase to debut in January

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 11/7/2012 2:11:41 PM

ATLANTA -- With more than 2,500 exhibiting companies across 34 product categories representing thousands of lines, AmericasMart reports it anticipates its most expansive temporary collections to date at the upcoming Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, Jan. 9-16.

"We travel far and wide in pursuit of new creations from the most imaginative and innovative manufacturers," said JoAnn Miller Marshall, executive VP of tradeshows at AmericasMart. "We are constantly tracking and analyzing trends that help us identify emerging product sectors that will add value to retailers' store offerings. Our goal is to assemble the ‘best of the best' here in Atlanta so that retailers don't have to do any of the cross-country leg work that we do to find product."

A new showcase for outdoor vendors debuting in January is Gardens Luxe, which will feature design-oriented garden gifts and décor including luxurious handcrafted fire pits, contemporary patio décor, slate water features and planters, hanging and freestanding live plant walls and more. Gardens Luxe is located in Building 2 WestWing, Floor 4 lobby.

HD Home will continue to showcase design-led, lifestyle home décor temporary exhibitors, kicking off with the HD Home Preview Party on Thursday, Jan. 10, from 2-6 p.m. in Building 1, Floor 1, Center Hall. Among the vendors for January 2013 are Amy Howard Home, Elaine Smith, Emporium Home, Jamie Young Co., French Heritage, Modern History, LowCountry Originals and Camilla House Imports.

High Design Luxe, an exclusive extension of High Design located in Building 2 WestWing, Floor 1 lobby, continues the momentum from last year with options ranging from the Tommy Mitchell Company's gilded and painted tole flowers to Marigot's sophisticated fine cotton and cashmere pajamas and robes.

"Showing in Atlanta has been wonderful for us," said Lynne Gilbert, CEO and designer of New York City-based Marigot. "It's the most fabulous market, and I get to see and talk to incredible customers."

The popular Made in America collection, which debuted in January 2012, will expand its collection of gift and décor products that are manufactured in the United States using at least 70% component parts and materials produced within the United States. Located in an expanded area of Floor 2 in Building 3, January exhibits range from furniture and home décor to candles, jewelry, art and edibles.

At 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, Joel Joseph, chairman of the Made in the USA Foundation, will lead a seminar called "Promoting Your Store as Made in the USA," to teach retailers to capitalize on the opportunities to reach consumers searching for American-made products.

The Global Designs collection, composed of artisan-quality craft companies, will feature exhibitors from across the globe offering high-quality décor, clothing and accessory items.

New exhibitors to the Home Accents/Home Furnishings/Fine Linens collection in Building 1, Floor 7 include Designers Guild and Pomegranate in Fine Linens; and Mainly Baskets, Heather Fields Home and Garden and Poetic Wanderlust in Home Accents.
