GREENSBORO, N.C. -- WithIt's Virginias/Carolinas chapter is bringing smiles this holiday season to a group that deserves extra cheer: children in hospitals, hospices and shelters. The network for women in the home furnishings industry is accepting gifts for Little Smiles, a nonprofit that works with nurses, child-life staff and medical personnel to deliver toys, games and more to children and their families.
Beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, WithIt members will be at Chop House, 4001 Meeting Way, High Point, N.C., to accept unwrapped gifts for donation. Recommended items include new, un-opened coloring books, picture books, crayons, dolls, board games and DVDs. Monetary donations are also accepted.
"Little Smiles helps children to escape their everyday pain, and I know all the generous donations from WithIt members and other industry professionals will be cherished by every recipient," said WithIt Vice President-Networking Margi Kyle, who is founder of the Little Smiles North Carolina chapter and owner of The Design Doctor LLC. "This holiday event is a chance for WithIt members to mix and mingle, and support a good cause, as well."
For monetary donations, send a check, made out to Little Smiles, to Little Smiles, c/o WithIt, P.O. Box 16264, High Point, NC 27261.
On a date to be announced in January 2013, WithIt Vice President-Manufacturing Beverly Kastel, marketing manager at Ekornes, will also host a collection for Little Smiles. For more information, contact Sara Lyke at director@WithIt.org.
