Additionally, Sorcher will also work on special events, including organizing content and recruiting speakers for the annual Casual Living conference.
She will also expand the magazine's online videos to feature news updates and manufacturer showroom tours. Sorcher will also work with Assistant Editor Alexa Boschini to spearhead social media outreach including Casual Living's presence on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and other sites.
"I have enjoyed working with Casual Living over the last few years as a contributor and I am excited to join the staff in this new role," Sorcher said. "I covered the casual outdoor industry many years ago and have worked with many of those on the Casual Living team since my earliest days as a journalist so this is somewhat of a return home. Above all, I am looking forward to covering such a vibrant industry."
"We are excited to have Jamie join the Casual Living team," Publisher Norman Hamilton said. "Having worked with Jamie in the past, I know she can be counted on to provide the best coverage in the areas that she will be responsible for. Her experience with multimedia, broadcast and social media will help Casual Living maintain its position as a voice of the leisure marketplace. Please reach out to Jamie and welcome her so she can meet some of the wonderful people involved in this exciting world of outdoor living."
