TULSA, Okla. - Imax Worldwide Home is continuing its fundraiser to support American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy relief efforts during next week's Las Vegas Market, the company announced.
For every $20 donation made through Imax between now and noon Thursday, Jan. 31, donors will receive one entry into a drawing to win an original mermaid sculpture. The mermaid, originally created by artist Colleen Stiles as a market promotion, became the sea-themed inspiration for the fundraiser. "Korrigan" the mermaid is on display in the Imax Las Vegas showroom, World Market Center A-429.
"Massive relief efforts are vital to aid in the rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy, and will be ongoing for months and years to come," said Rex Yoakley, VP of sales for Imax. "So many of our own customers and reps were affected by this storm that we knew immediately that we wanted to help in some way."
Donations can be made through the Imax website or in the company's Las Vegas showroom. Imax plans to match the donations raised. The drawing will take place at 3 p.m. PST Thursday, Jan. 31, next to the mermaid's display window, located in the Imax showroom adjacent to the escalators.
