The entire staff of Casual Living extends our deepest condolences to the Conn family.
In 1994, Merv started us out by selling Mallin to us in Palm Desert. We had no experience, little money, and little credit. Merv took a chance on us and we will be forever grateful for believing in us and giving us the opportunity to "make it" in the outdoor furniture business. Through the years we always looked forward to the meetings and lunches in Montebello when we were blessed to enjoy Merv and Brenda. Merv was such an enouragement to me, individually, as well as a person who led by example. His down-to-earth spontaneity and candor was always there. I join everyone in sharing great sadness that he is no longer among us. He was a friend to me who was always genuinely interested in what I thought and felt. He is never going to be replaced at Mallin. He was one of a kind; a great friend who could always make me laugh in the midst of tough times.
Ron Bock - 2013-03-07 15:01:46 ESTVictory furniture and the Safran family considered Merv a tremendous partner and friend. As an industry we are fortunate to have relationships that can be as strong and as long lasting as this one. Our thoughts are with Mervs family
Marty Safran - 2013-02-18 23:53:35 ESTI always enjoyed Merv, although I didn't know him well. He struck me as a quiet, thoughtful professional, always ready to answer a question or solve a problem. I also recall he wore cool cowboy boots. I am certain he was an exceptional leader for the Mallin Company, the industry will miss him greatly.
My sincere and deep condolences to the Conn family.

Miss you Merv... As it was Merv who loved and played golf with my financial adviser Fred who handed him my resume 6 years ago, and so thanks to Merv for getting the door open for a job I have loved now since having the pleasure of working with Merv and Mallin Casual Furniture and Minson Corporation for the past years. Merv taught me the business as a guide into the world he loved, after he spent nearly 50 years with Mallin. His kindness, design genius, marketing expertise and close attention to detail gave us all the confidence in following his professionalism in building a business for our friends, customers, and the industry. We all will miss him and remember he lives on in us everyday!
