Wayfair.com introduces daily flash deals

New feature brings flash sale model to mass market

Casual Living Staff -- Casual Living, 2/20/2013 9:30:53 AM

WayfairBOSTON, Mass. - Online home furnishings retailer Wayfair.com has announced the launch of Daily Fair, a new flash sale feature offering significant savings on the site's selection of home decor.

Daily Fair will deliver limited time sales with savings on up to 1,000 different products a day, deals that will be open to all Wayfair.com shoppers. With a selection of more than 5 million products from 5,000 suppliers, Wayfair.com is "uniquely positioned to source great deals and savings across a wide range of home product categories at an unprecedented pace," according to a company press release.

"When it comes to home goods and furniture, shoppers know that they can turn to Wayfair.com to find the perfect product at the right price," said Niraj Shah, CEO and co-founder of Wayfair.com. "So while we satisfy the shopper who knows exactly what he or she needs, we are also looking to engage the browsers and deal-seekers who enjoy the process of discovering great savings from a trusted source with the widest selection. Daily Fair adds another dimension to our unique shopping experience and allows us to leverage our tremendous reach and scale to source deals for our customers better and faster than any other home retailer."

While the flash sale model has been proven across private sale and invitation-only sites, Wayfair.com is the first mass retailer to integrate daily flash sales into its core shopping experience, the release states. The company draws upon expertise in the private sales sector from Joss & Main, its private sale brand that offers members exclusive deals on curated collections of home goods. Joss & Main launched just over two years ago and now has more than 3 million members.

"We are applying our proven track record in the private flash sales model to the everyday Wayfair.com shopping experience to cater to a wider range of shoppers who are seeking value and quality," Shah said. "This is an important evolution in our business model and one that we think will further differentiate our shopping experience and drive the continued growth of our business."

Daily Fair will feature up to seven new sales a day, seven days a week, each lasting for 72 hours. Wayfair.com shoppers will receive an email at noon each day announcing the daily sales or can access the deals directly at Wayfair.com. The limited time promotions will feature products linked by theme or category, as well as curated events featuring products handpicked by bloggers, designers and other influencers from the home community. With upcoming sales events ranging from home storage and organization to luxurious leather to mirrored and metallic accents, Daily Fair will offer up to 70% off across a number of home categories.

A few of the Daily Fair sales scheduled for this week include tufted headboards, outdoor play, novelty kids' room, contemporary dining furniture and more. Designer events this week will include Poker Night (game tables, game chairs and party essentials), Decorating with Texture (textured furniture and accents) and Winter Meals (casseroles, braising and stews).
