Outdoors in Atlanta
From furniture and rugs to accessories and shade, casual is king at July market

ATLANTA - Just a few short days before the Casual Preview Show in Chicago, outdoor exhibitors showed off some of their best-selling designs at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, held July 10-17 at AmericasMart.
From vibrant colors to classic looks, a variety of styles were on display in Atlanta. With the Atlanta International Area Rug Market running concurrently with the Gift & Home Furnishings Market July 11-14, companies including Surya, Sphinx by Oriental Weavers, Capel and The Rug Market America debuted a host of new indoor/outdoor rug designs.
Poly-Wood played with color and mixed materials in its new introductions, launching the Coastal Collection in an array of bold sling options and melding a metal frame and the company's signature plastic lumber to create the Bayline Collection. "We wrote a lot of orders [Thursday and Friday]," said Mark Phillabaum, co-founder of Poly-Wood. "We've been really happy."
Summer Classics made its mark with a wide assortment of new fabrics and finishes. "What we're doing is a lot of hybrids, a lot of mixed materials with our finishes," said Keith Norton, VP of sales and marketing. "We see the early response to our new color stories is huge."
Three Coins Cast saw continued success with its updated take on the classic Windsor chair, crafted from cast aluminum rather than the traditional wood. In Atlanta, the company extended its Windsor line with the introduction of a bar height version. "These Windsors have really been taking off," said Gardner Powell, director of sales and marketing for Three Coins Cast. "It's really made a difference for our business."
Alfresco Home continues to expand its outdoor furniture and garden décor, and President Joseph Cilio said the Fornetto wood fired oven and smoker has been "extremely well received" since its launch.
"In our cast and woven categories, we've introduced new collections that have proven to be very exciting, and on the garden side, we've introduced a wide range of pottery in all colors and sizes," he said.
The images that follow highlight a sampling of Casual Living's favorite looks from the Atlanta market.
"Almost every order I've written here has had some form of deep seating in it," Three Birds Casual President Tad Varga said. Shown here is the Monterey two-seater sofa.
Many of Surya's indoor/outdoor rugs recreate popular indoor looks for outdoor environments, such as this Moroccan tile motif from the Storm Collection.
