Currey & Company inks licensing agreement with Richard Frinier

Staff -- Casual Living, 11/1/2004

Lighting and accent furniture manufacturer Currey & Company has announced a licensing agreement with furniture designer Richard Frinier. The first cobranded collection for Frinier and Currey & Company will be launched at the fall 2005 International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, N.C., and will be available in stores the following spring.

Lighting and accessories for the home and garden will be the focus of the new collection. Frinier has been regarded as the spirit of the casual furniture industry for the past two decades, which is exactly how long the award-winning designer has known Robert Currey, founder and CEO of Currey & Company. Frinier's contribution to the furniture industry includes hundreds of designs that capture the best of traditional and modern styles.

"I am very enthusiastic for the opportunity to collaborate with Robert Currey and Marion Kelly, as I have been a follower of Currey & Company for many years," Frinier said. "We both share a passion for unique and quality design and share a desire to have fun with our work. I think this will be evident in the collections we develop together."

Frinier's design portfolio currently includes cobranded furniture collections with Century Furniture and luxurious performance fabrics for Glen Raven's Sunbrella fabric division, both designed for indoor and outdoor enjoyment. Frinier's design work, noted for unique and authentic design details, is also noted for infusing the spirit of travel for a look that Frinier says, "reminds you of a place you may have never been before, but where you feel instantly comfortable to linger and relax."

"We look forward to Richard's contribution to our design and marketing efforts," Currey & Company President Marion Kelly said. "We believe his style fits our company perfectly and that his design expertise and sense of style will bring something very positive to us all."

Currey & Company also has showrooms in Atlanta and Dallas to display its lighting, accent furniture, garden furnishings and accessories.
