Casually Contemporary

Courtney Mueller -- Casual Living, 9/1/2005

Contemporary pieces move into the forefront as designs concentrate on clean, simple lines with no fuss. Mixed media pieces are highlighted in this group, while many products have a metallic finish or appearance. Gloster's Sushi Table is again in the spotlight as it reinterprets casual dining with a modern flair. Artisan House's 3-D art always takes style up a notch for outdoor wall decor.

Artisan House showcases its three dimensional artwork, Reflection, with a silver and pewter finish hand-cut and hand-finished with iron accents. 7-6066

With ample seating room, Kettler's Kanto Collection lends an air of European sophistication, crafted with wrought iron and die cast aluminum arm rests. 1662

Designed by John Caldwell, the Eclipse Rocking Chaise from Woodard has an ergonomic design with simple lines for a modern update to lounging options. 8-1137

From Veneman Collections, the dining cube takes modern dining to a new level with low stools that surround a squared-off glass top table. 1783

The Sushi table from Gloster moves woven pieces away from the traditional with gently curved high back seats that tuck in to the table. 1768

Made from Bengkirai hardwood, romantic Polynesian gazebos from Exaco will transform the back yard into a private oasis. 8-7120

From Brown Jordan International, a bench from the Armada Collection exudes Carribean style with a touch of the contemporary in a generous serving of teak accented by detailed legs. 1755

The Himalayan Slate Laminate tabletop from Telescope Casual combines earthy hues with a metallic glazed look for upscale dining. 1655

TUCCI's Metro umbrella takes on geometric proportions to make a sharp impact in shade options. 8-7034

Designed by Andrew Gower, the Ibiza Collection from Kingsley-Bate combines stainless steel, textilene and teak for a sleek statement. 8-2076
