New planters and container designs seem to fit into two categories these days antique, distressed interpretations and contemporary styles. There’s room for both as homeowners interpret their gardens to reflect their own styles and taste.
The Redmont Urn by Elegant Earth is crafted of concrete with a subtle feminine design ($170).
Beaded rim detail and a scroll leaf band accents classic pottery from Pacific Rim. Made of glazed ceramic, the collection is available in eight pieces and five colors ($10, each).
Part of the Sweet Fern Collection, Tag’s verde-glazed terra cotta pots are hand-pressed and feature a crackle glazed finish to achieve a rustic style ($20 to $40).
A set of three zinc galvanized planters is introduced by Square Nest, providing a modern interpretation to container gardening ($250).
An antique white finish lends a distressed look to glazed terra cotta urns from Woods & Willow.
From Orlandi Statuary, fiberstone planters have the look of real stone, but are lightweight for easy portability ($25 to $110).
