Chad Callihan and Chuck Rose, managing partners of ecosource Home and Garden, unveiled grçnware, a line of eco-friendly dinnerware, during the International Home Housewares Show in Chicago.
Grçnware bridges ecosource’s current product lines, such as its earth-friendly planters, to the tabletop category. “Overwhleming response to our beautiful planters made the expansion into tabletop a natural progression,” Rose said. “Our dinnerware line is strong and priced low enough to be used everyday or for outdoor entertaining, yet the graceful design is perfect for a formal dinner. We’re all about developing new uses for materials that are attractive, affordable and practical.”
Grçnware is dishwasher safe and is intended to last four or five years and then be discarded or composted. It contains no petroleum or plastic, instead using coconut powder and fibers from other renewable plants, like bamboo and rice. The line includes three-piece place settings and two serving pieces in two finishes, a mahogany espresso and a glossy natural.
“The green movement is so hot right now, retailers can’t wait to get it on the shelves,” Rose said. “We’re very happy with the product and anticipating a great year.”
