Faced class action lawsuit

JRA Furniture Industries, an outdoor furniture maker that supplies mass market chains including Kmart and Sears, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week.

Since 2005, the Cerritos, Calif.-based company has faced a class action lawsuit filed by Chicago-based Horwitz, Horwitz and Associates. The suit asserted glass-topped patio furniture JRA Furniture manufactured for the Martha Stewart Everyday brand sold at Kmart spontaneously shattered during ordinary use.
