Cal Spas names lean-manufacturing instructor VP of operations

Cal Spas has named Paul Yandell as vice president of operations.

Yandell brings more than 25 years of experience in production and manufacturing, with nearly 15 in the spa industry. His responsibilities include integrating the latest leading-edge technologies into the company's operations division. He will oversee the implementation and monitoring of lean-manufacturing techniques that will benefit Cal Spas in terms of cost control, waste reduction, quality and safety, and complete and on-time delivery.

Yandell is the lead instructor for the Lean Enterprise Program at the University of California, San Diego; a member of the western board of directors for the Association of Manufacturing Excellence; and has published three articles on manufacturing management.
