Attention Retailers! Merchandising Awards coming up …

It’s that time of year again when many of you, if you haven’t already, are sprucing up your stores and getting ready for the warmer temperatures and customers to come in searching for brand new outdoor furniture and accessories.

It’s also that time of year when you should take a few minutes and photograph your stores for Casual Living’s annual Merchandising Awards. Each spring, Cinde and I, along with other furniture industry veterans, sit down and study your stores through those photographs. It’s a great chance for you to be awarded for your hard work and creativity.

Retailers are awarded in the following categories: Best Overall Merchandising, Best Use of Accessories, Best Outdoor Display and Best Store Front, each in the multi-store and single store categories. An overall winner, Most Fashionable Retailer, also will be named and will receive a special visit from designer Mark Abrams to help coordinate a special day for your customers. All winners will receive a personalized plaque to display in stores.

The deadline for submissions this year is Monday, April 28. Winners will be announced as part of a special feature in our June issue.

Here are the guidelines:

We accept exterior and interior store photographs. If sending digitally, images must be 300 dpi, minimum size 3x4 and .jpg or .tif format. Actual photographs are accepted as well. Please keep in mind the more pictures you can send the better. It gives us a better feel for your store.
