RAINDROPS ON ROSES … SPRING THINGS
March 10, 2008

These past few days brought glorious spring weather to Southern California. The sun is shining, temperatures are rising and colorful flowers are blooming. Everywhere you drive, whether it is a local neighborhood, or on the freeways along the coast and inland passages, the gold and orange poppies and yellow mustard seed plants are splashing color along your way. Just as the flowers are popping up around the town, consider popping some color into your home and outdoors.

Make it bold and bright to add cheer to a room, a sofa or a chair. Think of using those brilliant yellow, red, orange, purple and pink hues of a summer sunset or the tranquil blue of a swimming pool or ocean. Add some tulips in a watering pitcher and fruit in a basket to set the scene. Green is always a great addition to the home for spring, especially with St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, Think Green!

The natural beauty of flowering plants and lively bright colors will begin the process for you of thinking about all the spring things that make you happy. Daylight savings time has elongated our day, now we have an extra hour at the end of our workday to enjoy this new season. Just like raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, you can dream about long summer days, and exotic places that will help you wind down from a stressful day.

Change is good; it adds spice to your life. Try some!

Spring should help us get our creative juices going! I think I need to buy some flowers tonight. Thanks for the tips.

I love long summer days. BBQing dinner and eating outside to enjoy my garden flowers.
