Fire Sparks A Trend

June 23, 2009

According to the ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects) one of the hottest trends in outdoor living design is the fire pit. “Homeowners are reconnecting with their outdoor space, often in creative and imaginative ways,” said Perry Howard, FASLA, President of ASLA. “It’s no surprise that people want to take elements that work so well inside their home and recreate them outside.”

Fire pits establish an appealing focal point for companionable socializing. These fire pits provide a cozy feeling.

As gas prices continue to rise, people will choose to stay at home rather than go on a vacation. Spending time around the flames of a fire pit will spark conversation and romance.

Cuddle up with a soft luxurious Sunbrella® Outdoor Couture® throw blanket in your favorite color, with your companion as you sip a glass of wine. Get mesmerized by the flames shooting high from lava rock or colored glass and let the stresses of today slip away.

There are numerous choices for fire-pits in your yard, from stone, copper, slate and marble tops to rectangles, squares and circles. These fire pits can be hooked up to gas directly or use a tank of refillable gas. Either way you will receive hours of enjoyment surrounding the fire with family and friends.

We did an outdoor wddnieg and an indoor reception in May. We knew it was going to be a toss-up for a May wddnieg to be a clear day, but everything worked out! We wanted the wddnieg to be outdoors because we love being outside and going on adventures together. Plus, spring is such a beautiful time of year, with flowers blooming and the weather still being mild. It was a gorgeous day too! We loved everything about our outdoors wddnieg. We had the reception indoors to have a back-up in case of rain and it was lots easier to plan/set-up for. +2Was this answer helpful?
