Thanksgiving

November 24, 2008

This is the time of the year when families and friends sit down together and share what they are thankful for. Even during these very tough economic times with more hard times forecasted in our near future it is especially important to take the time to reflect on all of the things in our lives that we can be thankful for.

I am thankful for my family, my friends, for good health and for the freedom that this wonderful nation provides us. I am thankful for the ability to enjoy the little things in life, like watching children play in a park, like walking through the neighborhood and saying hi to the people I pass, like having the opportunity to share my thoughts with you my readers each week, like sitting under the star filled sky and dreaming about the future.

As we sit down with our loved ones this week, let them know what you are thankful for, it will enrich their lives and yours as well.

Take time to breathe, to think and to feel, for what greater joy could we have in this world than our ability to live.

Happy Thanksgiving…Marcia Blake

Thankful5:1. I am thankful for this sesoan in my life where I have the time in the morning to sit in the recliner given to us by my daughter-in-law with my computer (given to us by our children) in my lap , sip my coffee and watch the bird's nest and squirrels outside my window in our Swiss Family Robinson treehouse apt and the gate Irv made so Jack, the cat can't get to the balcony and try to jump into that bird's nest and falling 100+ feet into the gulch below.2. I am thankful to live close enough to our daughter so she can drop in to return my dish she filled with Banana Pudding and bring a box of tissues for Irv's runny nose3. I am thankful to see an invitation on my email this morning to an online Women's Bible Study one of the women at Marietta Vineyard created and is teaching online about the women of the Bible4. I am thankful to see a whole series of articles online this morning on money saving tips and realize I'm doing most but can improve as I want to be a good steward of God's money5. I am overflowing with thankfulness this morning and am thankful to be able to share some of it with you all
