I am Thankful this Thanksgiving Season
Today is a beautiful day, the sky is blue, the sun is bright, the leaves are changing colors and there is a crisp cool breeze in the air. Just the perfect weather for sitting outside sharing coffee, lunch or dinner with a close friend or relative. There is excitement in the air with the start of the holiday season. Some radio stations are playing holiday tunes, some homes and businesses turned on twinkling lights, the atmosphere is festive. Stores are busy selling special food for the holidays, decorations and libations.
The media is setting the stage for Black Friday, reporting huge discounts and low inventory, encouraging shoppers to start shopping early this holiday season or they might just find that the items they want are sold out and unavailable for the rest of the year.
During this crazy yet festive time, slow down to enjoy the sweet things in life.
This is the time of the year when families and friends sit down together and share what they are thankful for. Even during these very tough economic times with possibly more hard times forecasted in our near future it is especially important to take the time to reflect on all of the things in our lives that we can be thankful for.
I am thankful for my family, my friends, for good health and for the freedom that this wonderful nation provides us. I am thankful for the ability to enjoy the little things in life, like watching children play in a park, like walking through the neighborhood and saying hi to the people I pass, like sitting outside enjoying the comfort, coziness and style of an outdoor room, like having the opportunity to share my thoughts with you my readers each week, like sitting under the star filled sky and dreaming about the future.

As we sit down with our loved ones this week, let them know what you are thankful for, it will enrich their lives and yours as well.
Take time to breathe, to think and to feel, for what greater joy could we have in this world than our ability to live.
These are my outside views…
Happy Thanksgiving…Marcia Blake
