Revitalize Your Business with the Holiday Category
It’s December 2009 as I compose this blog article, and a refreshing rain storm is preparing me for the approach of the holiday season. Before long the seasonal madness will touch us all, in our homes, in stores and all around.
Many casual furniture retailers make room for holiday merchandise like Christmas trees, fresh cut and artificial. Accessories like ornaments, wreaths, candles and gourmet foods to help boost holiday sales.
If you haven’t jumped on this bandwagon, then perhaps you should consider the Holiday category for your store starting in 2010. Christmas is not the only holiday that will add on sales, there is Valentine’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Decorating the home for these holidays is a tradition that many people follow inside their homes. There is no reason that these holiday decorations can’t move outside. Poinsettias, red or white, spruce up an outdoor patio, walkway or fountain. Evergreen wreaths accent tables and walls. Mercury glass embellishes cocktail tables and gourmet food items are creative hostess gifts.
Customers are willing to spend on holiday merchandise during this season, it is an affordable luxury and a category that works throughout the year.
Before you launch a new campaign, create a strategy to seize the power of the crowds, plan for each of the holidays and mix the new merchandise with your casual furniture to show customers how they can decorate inside and outside their own home.
