Color Trends Following The Oscars

February 23, 2009

Color conscious critics will most likely be pleased with the color infused into the Oscar ceremony last evening. Elegant, glamorous dresses in natural and jewel tones dominated the event. Sapphire Blue, Emerald Green, and Ruby Red were mingling with Traditional Black, Neutral Champagne and the ever present White. Perhaps the most up to date color was worn by Kate Winslet in a mixture of Steel Gray and Transparent Black.

Just as the Oscars create an immediate impact on the careers of those who have the honor of accepting this prestigious award, the color of the dresses worn on the red carpet at this event will have long lasting influence on fashion. Fashion dictates color and home decor follows this lead closely.

Look for more and more jewel tone colors to become prominent, as well as the neutral palette of champagne, black, white and gray to continue to dominate the home decor market. From accessories to the main feature these colors will be found on frame finishes, fabrics and trims.

Be Bold, Make a Statement, Inject Some Jewel Tone Colors into your palette.
