Take the Party Outside
I have been very busy these past 4 weeks with two sons graduating, one from College and the other from High School. Both times family and friends descended to our home and we all shared in the happiness of a job well done. We watched with pride as our sons walked in their caps and gowns to receive their diplomas. Such was the excitement of the graduates who realized a dream come true and a future filled with bright and exciting promise.
College Grad High School Grad
No we will not let the dismal economy and the lack of jobs for college and high school grads get us down, not during this happy moment in time. We celebrate our sons achievements, the young men that they have become and look to the future as they plot their course.
Happiness is best when it is shared, so twice we opened our home to family and friends to celebrate together. We open our home in more ways than one, we invite people to come in and we open all of our doors for a seamless transition from the inside to out. Traditionally people congregate in the kitchen or near the food, we enjoy watching our family and friends move easily from room to room and from the inside to the outside to have a pleasant time at the party. Even though the weather was not so inviting, friends gathered around the fire-pit, lounged on the sofas, love seat and lounge chairs to share conversation, memories, food and drinks.
Some people ate outdoors on the high top table and bar stools, while others ate surrounding the fire-pit. Having the party transition from inside to outside is easy. All you have to do is open the doors, and people will naturally gravitate outdoors. We lit candles, votives, Tiki torches and the fire-pit to create a cozy ambience. Music flowed through outdoor speakers, colorful pillows decorated the casual furniture and flowers dazzled in the house and outdoors.
As we look to a bright future hopeful and optimistic we can’t help but appreciate and savor the precious things we have such as our family and friends, our homes, the sun, sky and all that nature has to offer.
So the next time you want to have a good time Take the Party Outside!
