New 2010 Introductions Shine Bright!
There is a bright star in the Casual Furniture industry that had been an institution since 1947. OW Lee was founded in Pasadena, California. They are the premier manufacturer of fine wrought iron and wrought aluminum casual furniture. OW Lee manufactures heirloom quality products in Ontario, California and they are one of the few remaining companies in the Casual Furniture Industry who still manufactures in the USA.
I was very sad to hear what an impact Meadowcraft’s involuntary bankruptcy had on the town of Wadley, Alabama. An accounting scandal brought this company to its knees. Now it’s closing is disastrous for the town and people of Wadley. Imagine owing $100,000 in utilities to the town, laying off a large part of the town’s population and affecting every other business in the surrounding area. How sad!!!
For those casual furniture dealers who chose to carry this line last year they found the quality of the furniture not up to par and delivery lacking. This is certainly not what you will find with other well established wrought iron and wrought aluminum manufacturers, specifically OW Lee. The quality, design and delivery of their collections far surpasses Meadowcrafts recent product.
Take a Sneak Peak at one of the new introductions for OW Lee this year and stop by their showroom in Chicago for a visit.
The newest collection, Ashbury is presented in a light weight Aluminum. The intricate scrolls and hand forges bends reflected in OW Lee’s wrought iron collections is now presented in easy care aluminum. An “embossed aluminum frame” with a round bar, ornate scrolls and wonderful curves is presented in this collection to add grace and elegance to an outdoor environment.
Ashbury is a full-line collection and features dining arm chairs, swivel rocker dining arm chairs, counter and bar stools, club chairs, swivel rocker club chairs, two seat and three seat sofas, ottoman and chaise lounge. Additionally this collection features table bases for side, occasional and dining as well as a glass top option.
“Ashbury offers details that were once only attainable in wrought iron,” said Brian Lee, Co-Owner and Vice President of Product Development. “The heirloom feel of this collection and the quality of OW Lee’s craftsmanship will make it a classic for many years to come.”
