Congratulations to OW Lee and Terra Furniture who earned ADEX Excellence award recognition in Design awards, produced by Design Journal.

Terra won a platinum award for its Verona Bar Chair, a gold for its Chelsea II Club Chair and two silver awards for its Tiburon Dining Chair and Milano Sun Chaise, made of stainless steel. 

Terra’s Tiburon Collection, an exciting new contemporary outdoor furniture design based on mid-century California Modern style, was inspired by a town in Marin County that sits upon the San Francisco Bay. The city’s name comes from the Spanish word tiburón, which means "shark."  California designer Ilan Dei partnered with Terra Furniture (www.terrafurniture.com) to create a collection that marries the modern elements of a city with its natural surroundings to produce a rich, timeless look.

Ilan Dei born in Israel, of North African descent, is inspired by the lushness of the Mediterranean cultures, as well as, by the natural beauty of Southern California’s terrain, climate and diverse cultures. Ilan coined the term "lush minimalism" to describe his design approach, one that is minimal in terms of line and form, yet lush in materials as represented in this new Tiburon collection. Dei’s design melds nature into the sleek modern furniture with the application of a cutout “pebble” pattern trim a unique floating oval which appears on the backs of the chairs, chaise lounge and the edge of the dining table.
 
The Tiburon Collection is structured in a lightweight cast aluminum and is available in a multitude of custom and standard finishes. So whether you are sunning by the pool or relaxing in the luxury of your own home this is a design that celebrates nature and modern sensibility.                                                                                         

O.W. Lee’s Luxe 30 Collection won ADEX honors in both the indoor modular seating and transitional seating category. Crafted with high-grade aluminum alloy, Luxe 30 brings a chic indoor styling outdoors. The cushion uses a revolutionary keystone system anchoring it to the frame by use of resistance rather than nuts and screws. The Luxe 30 Collection is one of sophistication and comfort designed to bring the luxury of the indoors to exterior spaces and the outdoors in. This durable high grade aluminum collection incorporates sleek lines and textures of the elegant Art Deco era and brings a chic style to any setting inside or out.

Designer Paul Rogers, great-grandson of founder Oddist W. Lee, used clean lines reminiscent of an Art Deco style. “However, the defined angles keep it well within the realm of modern furniture, creating almost a redefined Art Deco/contemporary fusion,” he said.
