Outdoor Living Trends Direct From High Point Market

There are a number of trends resonating from the High Point Market this season. One of the most prominent is a "Comforting Trend". Who doesn't want to be comforted, feel safe and secure?

We are all trying to keep it simple, spending time in our very own backyard, instead of traveling we are staycationing in the luxury of the outdoor rooms that we have created.

It is getting easier and easier to accomplish this with the addition of products that allow us to design a personalized retreat.

One such product is the outdoor rug, some new designs have emerged at highpoint from a company called The Rug Market, www.therugmarket.com They have quite a variety of styles, check it out.

Palm Springs Rattan has a lot of new looks including Cape Hatteras, a "white washed" all wicker collection with new embroidered outdoor pillows.

Robin Wade from Furniture.com is designing indoor and outdoor furniture out of wood, which are being used in contract applications. 

New this seasons Kingsley Bate's all weather wicker in off white oyster color, which is cool and welcoming for those looking for something different from wicker browns.

Whitecraft has designed custom fabrics on pieces being introduced as add-ons to fall collections including a beautiful chaise lounge to their South Terrace collection, a part of their Biltmore line. 

Two Palms Casual has truly brought indoor selections to the outdoors with carved teak elegant seating showcasing inlaid wicker backs. 

Seasonal Living boasts a modern look in indoor - outdoor seating using fabric and wicker combos and unique outdoor lighting that has won a recent Red Dot European Design Award.

Merit Wish is a designer from New Castle, Pennsylvania, who as introduced a line of all weather shag rugs made of ultra suede with acrylic backing fabric. They are available in all shapes and sizes.

Another company, Artisan's House has a unique line of outdoor metal art for wall mounts and stands alone sculpture. This is a big category within the contract segment.

The takeaway from High Point this year is : "Keep It Simple" ,"Gimme Shelter", "Made In America", "Going Old School" and "It's Five O'Clock Sometime".

Outdoor Living is redefining life outdoors.
