How To Decorate Inside & Out for the Holiday Season

December 1, 2008

This is the time of the year that people are starting to decorate for the holidays, however, very often the outside room is neglected. A very simple yet elegant way to decorate inside and out for the holiday season is to utilize beautiful poinsettias in white or red. By just the effortless addition of a few live colorful plants you will successfully add vibrant colors of red and green and will dress up any doorway, terrace, courtyard, patio, veranda, or deck.

The poinsettia comes in a lovely shade of red and also can be found in white. So in the event that you decorate in non-traditional colors the use of the white poinsettia is just right for you.

These plants can be used inside the home as well as outside to create a festive, holiday atmosphere. Try placing two large poinsettias on the ends of a sofa or a few smaller ones in pots on the cocktail and side tables. Another way to add color is to place a wreath with these flowers on your front door, over the mantel of a fireplace or on a wall in the home.  Add a throw blanket for the season in green or red and toss some pillows for the final touch.
