An Outdoor Oasis Is An Individual Statement

May 15, 2009

Garrison Hullinger Designer

An Outdoor Oasis created by designer Garrison Hullinger an interior designer in Portland Oregon who’s work has been described as warm, streamlined and comfortable, utilizes his preferred method of design a mix of contemporary and traditional elements.

He prefers texture over pattern in the fabrics that are selected. Garrison lives in a restored 1909 Portland Foursquare Craftsman, enjoys being in his garden with his family and rescued greyhounds, takes time out to design and make stained glass windows.

Take a look at the photo of Garrison’s outdoor oasis which has all of the elements that he considers important contained in this outdoor space. You see a mixture of aluminum and wicker, ceramic and glass. Color is splashed in the use of decorative outdoor throw pillows, an orange throw blanket, colorful lights, and a patterned rug.

Garrison hung outdoor drapes for privacy, protection and to add the final touches.

Mixing patterns, textures, materials and colors makes an outdoor oasis an individual statement.
You don’t have to be afraid to mix and match, to join together different types of furniture and accessories to create an outdoor setting, anything goes.

Write a comment and let me know what different products you mix together in your outdoor space?
