Take a Lesson from Colorful Fruit: Surround Yourself with Vibrant Fabrics to Feel Good

March 23, 2009

Fruit that is exposed to sunshine such as blueberries, blackberries, cranberries and acai generate antioxidants to safeguard the plant’s DNA from destruction during photosynthesis and the antioxidants in these colorful fruits benefit whoever eats them.

The rule of thumb is: The more colorful the fruit, the more healthful it’s expected to be. These antioxidants protect cells, strengthens memory, helps digestion, increases mental clarity, strengthens the heart, provides essential fatty acids, strengthens the nervous system and vision, stabilizes proper cholesterol, fights bacteria and viruses, and generally strengthening the immune system.

Since we also are aware that colors have an impact on us psychologically perhaps we should take a lesson from colorful fruit and create an outdoor living environment that radiates warmth and promotes harmony like bright yellow, orange and red. Fabric choices such as Sunbrella’s Canvas Paprika and Dolce Mango will liven up a sofa or dining set by encouraging socialization and emiting energy. While Sunbrella’s Steeplechase Citrus and Canvas Sunflower Yellow will shine with optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. The color yellow is mentally stimulating and inspires communication and the color red like Sunbrella’s Kincaid Crimson and Canvas Jockey Red excite and promote a sense of protection.

So let’s benefit from the feelings that these colors generate and punch up our outdoor living spaces with color.
