Fall Back to Standard Time as You Enjoy Your Outdoor Room
Tonight a few hours past midnight, we will be changing our clocks back one hour and we will “gain” an extra hour as the clocks Fall Back. Essentially we will be changing back to “standard time” which refers to time without daylight saving time.
Daylight saving time is the custom of advancing clocks so that afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less. The change from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time
will occur on Sunday, November 1st at 2:00 a.m. (local time). Clocks should be set BACK 1 hour.
Every spring we move our clocks one hour ahead and "lose" an hour during the night. The change to Daylight Saving Time allows us to use less energy in lighting our homes by taking advantage of the longer and later daylight hours.
So as we move back into Standard Time the sun will set earlier, the temperature will drop sooner and we will need the warmth of fire features and outdoor throw blankets to keep us warm. This is the perfect time of the year to spend time outside in our outdoor rooms in the evening hours. Fall days are crisp and clear, and Fall nights are cozy and dry.
Don’t let the dark keep you inside, light some candles, light the fire and enjoy the big beautiful night sky full of twinkling white stars, planets and worlds beyond.
