Salt water pool trend brings ongoing profits

In 2002, only 15% of new pool installations were salt water. Today, an estimated 70% of all new pools are being built with electrolytic chlorine generators and the nation has more than 1.3 million salt water pools. It’s not surprising, really. Public pools must meet new anti-entrapment rules

NSF International is reminding owners and operators of seasonal public pools that new legislation, which took effect in December 2008, now requires them to install anti-entrapment devices that meet the new Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act (VGBPSSA) before opening for the season. The Act was adopted to help protect children from life-threatening injuries and deaths from potentially dangerous pool and spa drains. More
Pristiva offers two-step system for salt water pools

Pristiva Inc., a new subsidiary of Compass Minerals, recently launched the Pristiva Advanced Two-Step System for the start-up and maintenance of salt water pools. The products will be sold exclusively through professional trade channels.
